Van Mahotsav @ Polling Activity

Nature and its amazing beauty have always been a source of inspiration and delight to mankind for ages. In addition to its peace and tranquilly, nature has given us a lot. It has always taken care of individual’s basic needs, whether we live in plains or mountains. As a part of Van Mahotsav celebration, a poll was launched across social media platforms on July 7, 2022.


The survey intended to inquire about the activities that people would like to take up during Van Mahotsav. The results of this poll showed that 40 % of the people would prefer to sow seeds, 30% would water plants, 30% of them took keen interest in educating others about the importance of sowing seeds. There was a insignificant percentage of respondents who showed interest in car pooling and switching off the light when not in use. The data collected showed that the majority of people preferred to sow seeds in order to save and preserve trees.

A general discussion to analyse the results of the poll was held by the teacher with the students of classes IX and X. They came to a conclusion that planting more trees would contribute to global reforestation efforts, restoring lost forests, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate changes. The students participated in the discussion with enthusiasm and vigour.

  It is obligatory for vehicle owners to get their vehicles checked for the pollution their vehicles are emitting. It is our social and moral responsibility to spread awareness on how we can keep a check on the pollution that is caused by we humans. World Environment Day on the Theme - 'Only One Earth'

  Based on the theme ‘Only One Earth’, The Climate Reality Project (India) celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ with the launch of a month-long summer workshop “Planet needs Green Jobs!” for student community focusing on Green Jobs. The students were invited to understand future projections of clean energy, sustainable agriculture and many more such streams. The four webinars were organized on four Saturdays in the month of June, 2022 from 5 th -25 th June, 2022. The experts from various national/international organizations joined and shared insights on the work they are doing to inculcate suitability practices to prepare the student community for the times ahead. Fifty students of our school from Std. IX-XII were registered and participated in these webinars. Their involvement in such programs is a step forward towards a greener, more prosperous planet.

Anti-Tobacco Day @Awareness Programme about the World Tobacco Day

  Anti-Tobacco Day was celebrated on 31 st May 2022. To create awareness among the students about the World Tobacco Day, HRIDAY organized a short video making competition in the month of May, 2022. The theme of the competition was ‘Tobacco and Environment’. Students of St. Mary’s School, Dwarka participated diligently. Swastik Jindal stood 1 st in the video making competition and received a gift voucher of worth Rs. 5000/-. A few clips of the video - On this occasion , a Power Point Presentation was shown to the students of Std. VI-XII to discuss the causes and effects of consuming tobacco.  On this occasion, the students and teachers took an e-pledge-‘Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs’, through a weblink. They committed themselves to consciously cooperate in stopping drug abuse and stay away from drugs to live a healthy life.
