Beware of Air by Urvashi

BEWARE OF AIR   Air Pollution- The Largest Threat To Life   How does it feel getting choked? "Yet, air quality continues to deteriorate despite the increase in laws and regulations seeking to address air pollution" says UNEP Chief Inger Anderson. According to WHO report around 7 million people worldwide die every year from the toxic air pollutants.   There's no silver bullet that can address the air pollution crisis. More than 90 per cent of the global population is breathing unhealthy air. Strokes, heart disease, lung cancer, acute and chronic respiratory disorders have been linked to outdoor air pollution. Thus, there's a need for the hour.   In an endeavor to be a change maker, we, the students of St. Mary's school, Dwarka registered our Code Green Team in a prestigious campaign Youth for Earth. Sustain the development by Stuti Mohan

Sustain the development   In today’s world, development is what every continent, every country and every citizen urges for. The development of technology, society and mankind is actually necessary with time. We destroy the provided resources and take them for granted. We need to understand that the resources are limited and will end one day resulting in the end of the living beings. We are fully dependent on them and the “development” will be of no use when we won’t survive. The United Nations held a conference at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2012, and introduced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In simple language sustainable development basically means using the provided resources wisely and according to our needs, thereby preserving them for our future generations.   There are 17 SDGs which include no poverty, zero hunger, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, etc. Our school takes initiative in practicing sustainability in deve...

SDG-3, Good Health and Well-being Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential to sustainable development. Poor health constitutes suffering and deprivation of the most fundamental kind. Before the pandemic, major progress was made in improving the health of millions of people. Significant strides were made in increasing life expectancy and reducing some of the common killers associated with child and maternal mortality. But more efforts are needed to fully eradicate a wide range of diseases and address many different persistent and emerging health issues. This is to be done through the third goal of sustainable development which is “ Good Health and Well-being ”. SDG 3 aspires to ensure health and well-being for all, including a bold commitment to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other communicable diseases by 2030. It also aims to achieve universal health coverage, and provide access to safe and effec...
