SDG-3, CODE GREEN- THE JOURNEY TILL NOW by Saanvi Roy
SDG-3,
CODE GREEN- THE JOURNEY TILL NOW
It is so very rightly said "Your health is your
real treasure and not pieces of gold and silver." Amongst the various
topics we had, we chose SDG 3- Good Health and Well Being as a topic we'd work
on as we felt health is the need of the hour, and the recent pandemic made us
realize this the hard way. We believe
being healthy should be a part of our overall lifestyle. Living the correct
lifestyle can prevent chronic and long term diseases. To promote the idea of
maintaining a healthy lifestyle, we conducted various activities in our school
to aware the Gen z, the future of the planet, about the same.
We believed the
first step would definitely be to introduce everyone about the topic. So the
members of the Code Green Team were assigned the task to create a PPT, using
their own knowledge, and in simple words, regarding the third SDG. This was not only to introduce our fellow
mates but also us. Researching and learning while making the PPT also helped us
understand the issue to a greater depth. After introducing our fellow mates to
the topic, we decided to test their raw knowledge about this SDG. We had
· group
discussions,
· orientation
sessions,
· interviews
· Incorporated
in holiday homework
Which were led by the members of the team .We also asked:
· The
students of the Eco Club in our school to put leaf litter in the vermin compost
site and observe it regularly.
· There
was a Google Form Survey conducted to see how many students' family members had
breathing troubles.
· The
younger students had orientation session followed by a brainstorming session
where Good Health and Well Being and how air pollution is a predominant cause
of Ill health in cities were discussed.
All
these activities helped the students’ be familiar with the cause we all will be
working on for the next couple of months and future endeavours regarding the
same.
We
are humans, the destruction and creation of our health and the planet play in
our hands. Let us be responsible citizens and go the sustainable way. Go Green
to Breathe Clean.
