How SDG-3 Changed My Life for the Better? by Bhumi Goyal

How SDG-3 Changed My Life for the Better?

SDG-3 or Sustainable Development Goals-3 ensures good health and well-being including a bold commitment to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and other communicable diseases by 2030.

The reason my school chose this goal is because recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic, millions of people lost their lives and that was because we did not know how to cure its effect. We were not aware. Even though we have vaccines for covid now, taking preventive measures is for our betterment. Maintaining good health and well-being is important.

That is why my school took the initiative towards attaining our sustainable development goal. We had

  • ·      group discussions,
  • ·      orientation sessions,
  • ·       interviews
  • ·      Incorporated in holiday homework
  • ·      PPT’s made
  • ·      Brainstorming sessions

We have started enlightening the students as to what we mean by SDG-3 and what its goals are. We have started conducting activities in all the classes which provide further insight to students regarding the same. We are specifically focusing on the problem of Air Pollution because New Delhi extremely suffers from this problem. So, every teacher, every student and every staff member in the school relates to it and can help change for good. Infact a change has already been observed.

We have set up Solar Panels and we practice Rain Water Harvesting. We even have mini forests in our school which help in keeping the air in our surroundings clean and healthy to breathe. We encourage the students to do the same because if the new generation will not take a step forward then who will?

Our school is a Green School!
